Phonological Awareness

The first phase in the process of developing phonological awareness is to improve your child’s general sound awareness and listening skills.

Can your child discriminate between sounds? You can begin by making them aware of the everyday sounds they hear around them such as animal sounds and machine noise. Please find some activities to practise phase 1 phonics. This will then pave the way for the systematic teaching of phonics from phases 2 to 6.
